Accommodation Near Promenada Mall, Craiova: What You Have Around You
A guide to the Promenada Mall area in Craiova: restaurants, supermarkets, transport, parking and access to the centre, the hospital and the industrial zone.
When you look for accommodation in a city you do not know, the real question is not “how much does it cost” but “what is around me”. We wrote this guide for the area where we are based: Promenada Mall, Craiova.
Why this area
Promenada is on the east side of Craiova, towards Calea București. It is not the historic centre, and that is more often an advantage than a drawback:
- Parking is easy and free. In the Old Centre, it is not.
- It is quiet in the evening. No terraces open until 2 a.m. under your window.
- You leave the city quickly — towards the A1, the airport and the industrial zone.
- You have everything you need a few minutes away on foot.
The trade-off: the Old Centre is 10 minutes away by car or 25 on foot. For most visitors, it is worth it.
What you have a few steps away
Food
- Burger King — 300 metres away, open late
- Promenada food court — several options, including sit-down restaurants
- More restaurants and cafés around the mall
Shopping
A supermarket in the mall, plus neighbourhood shops around it. If you stay several days and cook, you have everything you need without taking the car.
The mall
Promenada has a cinema, shops and a kids’ play area. It is especially useful when it rains or when you travel with family.

Who the area suits
A great fit for:
- Visits to the County Hospital — 1.5 km, with parking
- Business trips and teams working in the industrial zone
- Families with children — mall, parking, calm
- Road-trip stopovers — you are on the A1 straight away
Less suitable if:
- You want to walk to the Old Centre every evening
- You came purely for cultural tourism and do not have a car
Transport
There is public transport to the centre, and a taxi to the Old Centre costs around 15–20 lei. If you come by car, parking with us is free and you do not have to think about it.
